Our house in Mexico is available for rent until we're able to retire and move in ourselves. If you're looking for a wonderful rental for a few months in one of the world's best climates, look no further!

Los Sabinos is one of the premiere luxury developments in Ajijic, Mexico, with beautiful clubhouse and common areas in a guarded, gated community just west of a picturesque colonial Mexican village. Within 10 minutes, you can be at the artistic shops, wonderful restaurants, weekly outdoor markets, Walmart, and support services for English-speaking retirees and visitors. The lake is just downhill, offering a variety of recreational activities and beautiful views.

Ajijic, Mexico is nestled between Lake Chapala and the surrounding mountains, at a comfortable elevation of 5,000 ft. National Geographic has called the weather at Lake Chapala the second best climate in the world! Why suffer through the cold, ice and snow of winter or sweltering heat of summer when you can enjoy moderate year round temperatures in the 70's and 80's?

Just to the north is Guadalajara, Mexico's 2nd largest city, with wonderful shopping, dining, arts and culture. The international airport is only a half hour from Lake Chapala, and those who love the ocean can be in Puerto Vallarta by driving just a few hours west.

Casa Krause - Modern Style and Luxury in Old Mexico

FrontCompleted less than a year ago, Casa Krause is squeaky clean and new, just waiting for you and your suitcase. Everything you need is provided in our fully furnished house with all linens, appliances, kitchenwares, phone, high speed Internet and satellite TV.

Pull into your covered parking for two cars and walk through the front door to a huge, open plan living, dining and kitchen area. There is tile throughout the house, which extends onto a covered terrace for indoor, outdoor combined living. Glass wraps the entire living and dining room, and opens to the covered terrace. A gas and wood fireplace floats in glass, allowing views of the courtyard garden and high natural stone privacy wall that surrounds the house with solid security. A dramatic exposed brick, domed "tortuga" ceiling covers the living area, with indirect lighting around the perimeter providing a soft glow at night.Living Area

The living room has a comfortable sofa and loveseat in beautiful burnt orange, tables, lamps, and entertainment center. Sit back and relax in front of a high-def flat screen TV with Blu-Ray disk player and Shaw satellite TV. You can access a high speed Internet connection for online needs using the provided wireless router. For dining, choose from a beautiful marble dining table with six modern chairs, or take your meal on the covered terrace where a glass-top table and cool mesh chairs await. There are remote controlled ceiling fans in both the indoor and outdoor living areas to help with cooling, or open the front door to let breezes from the lake move through the house. A steel mesh outer door with decorative bars can be locked for security, even when the inner door is open.

KitchenThe large kitchen has an abundance of cabinets for storage, including a full-height pantry along one entire wall. All stainless steel appliances are provided, including a dishwasher, double sink with disposer, microwave, six burner gas stove with oven, and double door refrigerator with dispensers for ice and filtered water. A large brick domed cupola provides light and ventilation for the kitchen. Just off the kitchen is a full size laundry room with washer, dryer, iron and ironing board. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need for meal creation... pots and pans, cookware, dishes, preparation and eating utensils, glassware, small appliances, linens and more. You can even contact our property management concierge service to have groceries purchased and stocked for you before arrival at the house! A whole-house water purification system insures that your water is clean and safe, right out of the faucets.

Moving down the hallway, you'll come to an interior paved patio, open to the clear, blue sky above. What a great place to do some container gardening, or just enjoy the sunshine! The large sliding kitchen windows make it easy to snip some cooking herbs Guest Bedroomyou might have growing, or pass through refreshments to patio guests.

Further down the hall, turn into an alcove that opens to two bedrooms. The first contains a computer desk and leather Klik-Klak sleeper sofa. This room can be used as a den, office, or spill-over sleeping space for guests. The other bedroom has a queen bed, side tables and dresser with mirror. Each of these rooms have a large closet with shelves, drawers, and plenty of space for hang-up items. A sliding glass door in the den opens into the patio, while the sliding glass door of the guest bedroom has its own private back yard and patio area. Both rooms have a ceiling fan with remote control.

Just around the corner from the guest area is a nicely appointed bathroom with huge shower, marble top vanity, and skylight with fan that provides plenty of natural light. A window is included for additional ventilation.

Master BedroomContinuing down the hall is a private master suite. The large bedroom has a beautiful brick domed ceiling with indirect lighting. There is a king size bed, side tables and dresser with mirror. A sliding glass door on one side of the room opens into the garden courtyard. Two tall windows on the opposite side provide cross ventilation and a view of the natural stone privacy wall in back. A ceiling fan with light has its own remote control.

Walk through a single door into your private master bathroom with shower that fills one entire end of the room. The double-sink marble vanity has plenty of storage for personal items. A window opens to the back, and there's a skylight above with vent fan. On one side of the bathroom is a large walk-in closet. There are two modules with shelves and drawers for storage, plus rod and shelf for hang-up items along three sides.

Everywhere throughout the house are cupolas, skylights, windows, glass walls and sliding glass doors to provide plenty of light and views of the outdoors. Thick brick walls are covered with stucco and keep the interior at a comfortable temperature. Since winter nights can become slightly cool, the living room fireplace can be used to take away the chill and provide a romantic glow. Screens on all the sliding doors will help keep the bugs at bay.

View SouthwestBeyond the interior covered terrace is a courtyard garden area, which is visible from most areas of the house. You have plenty of space for sun worship, but privacy is assured by a tall stone and brick wall that keeps your space your own! There is a small front yard also, with outdoor storage bodega near the covered parking. No need to worry about leaving space for garden tools since all gardening chores are handled by the provided gardener! An underground sprinkler system keeps the green spaces green, and you'll never need to mow the lawn.

Los Sabinos Clubhouse and Facilities

ClubhouseLos Sabinos is a beautifully designed community, created by the respected Desherman Group and handled by Interlago Real Estate. There are 68 home sites in two phases, with construction nearing completion. The development is surrounded by a security wall and access is through a guarded gate, which is manned 24/7. Water is provided by a private well, and an active homeowner's association takes care of lighting, street maintenance and trash pickup. All interior roads are wide and paved, and the entrance opens directly to the main highway running between Chapala and Jocotepec. From your covered parking, you can easily be at most areas of Ajijic (including the modern Walmart) in just 10 minutes. There is a protected bike lane along the highway if you prefer to ride your bicycle.

Infinity PoolWhile staying at Casa Krause, Los Sabinos home #54, you are just across the street and half a block away from the Clubhouse and facilities. It's an easy walk to be in a crystal clear infinity pool or hot tub, using the exercise equipment or taking advantage of two available barbeque grills! The clubhouse is right next to the pool, with a patio, lounge chairs, tables for meals by the pool, steam showers and a massage room. The clubhouse has a fully equipped kitchen and living area with sofas, dining tables, and high speed wireless Internet so you can use your computer while relaxing on the patio. You may want to stay all day, so bring your sun screen!

If you're into fitness, you'll love the exercise room at Los Sabinos! Just off the pool, a wall of windows in the exercise area provides a beautiful view of the patio, palm trees, Exercise Roomand surrounding mountains while you exercise inside. A variety of equipment options and free weights allow you to work all areas of the body in a clean, well kept environment. Rest rooms and showers are provided if you want to spray yourself off after a workout, and don't forget the hot tub to help sooth those muscles.

Next to the exercise room is a private massage area with professional massage table. With massage services readily available and inexpensive, you can hire someone to come to Los Sabinos and give you a massage just a few steps away from your rental home.
